"And we’ll differ on chamomile tea."

Indeed. Actually it's the smell I hate so much rather than the taste which is merely 'meh'.

In the States I was known as "you're Debbie – oh yes you're from Ireland and you're the one that hates cinnamon!". Someone thought it was a chemical anomaly/disability - she'd never met anyone there who didn't like it. It's *everywhere* there (gag).

Mmmm pesto, food of the gods. Om nom nom.

Big hates:

Cinnamon and coconut are the stuff of satan, as are almond essence and dried fruit (dead flies) - and anything else similarly squelchy so that includes tofu. I was once given halva made from dried fruit, coconut and cinnamon (who the hell makes halva that way???) and had to excuse myself to go and throw up. Nice!

Not mad on vinegar (except on proper chips) and hate anything pickled.

Blue cheese, gak.

Chamomile tea. ;)

I freaking *love* pesto! I just can't understand not liking it. When I was last in Tuscany, I came home with buckets of it, including hazelnut pesto, walnut pesto and a couple different kinds that had truffle in them.

Since I pretty much love all food, I guess the only gripes I have are condiments. I hate (HATE) ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, all of that gross stuff. I think the only condiment I've ever liked is barbeque sauce.

As for pizza, in Namibia they serve pizza with bananas on it, and it is life-changing. Seriously amazing.

Eggs are evil, they sort of draw you into a nice false sense of security then bam, yocksville.

Not too gone on white meat,
but I heart shellfish on a major scale (see what I did there?) Da Pino's on Parliament street does an absolutely amazing black past with gorgeous shellfish.

Cannot stand Marmite either. Also up there are aubergines (slimy and gross), the pulpy seedy insides of tomatoes, anything banana flavoured, and white asparagus.

I also find chicken on pizzas odd. I think it's the chicken/cheese combo and colour sameness...

With you on the Bovril/Marmite hating. Eurgh. Don't like Horlicks either. Double eurgh.

Liquorice or anything aniseedy is out the window. Although I do like fennel. Go figure.

Peppermint I can take or leave. It's just kind of 'meh'. I like mint tea but I'd run a mile before eating an After Eight.

I hate pesto too! Used to hate mushrooms, but am coming around.

I cannot abide courgette, I think it is the foulest most disgusting thing on the face of the planet. Even thinking about it makes me nauseous. If it shows up in food I've ordered I can't eat any of it. Just sick.

Yellow squash is right up there with courgette.

Can't do lamb either, way too cute to eat, but give me veal any day! Nom nom! :)

At one stage I'd be completely with you on the meat on pizzas and still find chicken weird but its pepperoni all he way now. Before that it was pienapple though!

And yes mushrooms are my biggest food enemy.

Foodie qualms. Hmmm. Well I can't get my head around cold soup.
