Irish Rail endorses same-sex discrimination?

I’m shocked to read that institutional same-sex discrimination is rife in Irish Rail over at Suzy’s. She has a snap of a confidential document (posted in a place where the public can view it) spelling out in no uncertain terms that same-sex couples are to be refused free travel even though they possess the necessary passes. Go read her post. Here’s their response.

Thanks for the post and link Alexia. I’m livid at the moment.

Just to be clear same sex couples don’t possess the necessary pass because the minister decreed that they could not get a pass for their partner even after being told that she/govt were breaking the equality laws. They then brought in a new law to make older gay people using companion passes impossible – if they have a companion type pass they can’t bring someone of the same gender. And Irish Rail are stopping them getting the train in the most nasty of ways.

Amended.. I speed read as I was fuming. I can’t believe it.
