Where Green means more CO2

You have to love the contrarian grace where events used to promote European Mobility week cause traffic meltdown in Dublin.

From the AA Roadwatch site tonight:

Expect delays around Merrion Square where the West side is closed until 7pm due to events associated with European Mobility week.

How very Green to cause more poisonous emissions to be spewed in the air all while trying to convince people to be more green aware and use transport modes that spit out less CO2.

Can’t an event be held outside the city to minimise traffic disruption and unnecessary emissions? Decentralisation anyone?

but if you move it out of the city center, everyone who wants to go has to drive there… since the public transport links outside the city are worse than they are inside (sounds imposible, but true…)

Could they not pick a venue already served by public transport and lay on extra buses to supplement it? The carbon footprint would be way less, right?

Even holding it on a weekend would be more sensible.
