Caligula at Dublin Theatre Festival

Saw a revival of Camus’ Caligula last Saturday night and was blown away by the play and the performances of the young cast. In these times, the old adage of ‘absolute power corrupting absolutely’ is very salient. I loved the way spin was used throughout the play. It was as if Camus peered forward from the Thirties and peeled back the instruments of the modern political machine.

The show was the perfect bookender to the Organise, Activate and Influence conference earlier in the day. More on that to come. This run as part of this year’s theatre festival is over, but do try to check out the CHRG Theatre Group if you can.
