Today is World Mental Health Day, time to reach out

Today is World Mental Health Day, a time to reflect on invisible illnesses that affect tens of thousands of Irish people every year. Bipolar disorder, food disorders, schizophrenia, depression (incl. post-partum) – common illnesses that sit under the surface of our society. Ireland isn’t there yet when it comes to openly discussing them, there’s plenty of people there to listen. Hopefully the more people talk about their experiences, the more that any stigma associated with these illnesses fades away and dies. Ignoring and leaving something behind closed doors, doesn’t do anyone any good.

You’re not alone. If you are feeling like you need help, reach out and talk to someone. Help is only an ask away.
