The Alexandria Quartet ‘Rock and Roll’

Some time ago, I posted a vid link to The Alexandria Quartet’s debut single ‘Into The Light’. It was a stonking tune with energy that kind of reminded me of Supergrass. If you liked that, why not try ‘Rock and Roll’ off their new album?

Download removed due to the IMRO demand for licencing from bloggers.

‘Rock and Roll’ sounds a little like The Stills with their signature harmonic soundscapes. It doesn’t have the instant honeyed hooks of ‘Into The Light’. What do you think?

The Alexandria Quartet’s new single ‘The Dark Side Of The Blues’ is out April 27th. It’s closely followed by the band’s self-titled album out May 11th.

Background

A funny thing happened today, a record company contacted me asking if I’d like to listen to a track, offered the resources for me to pick it up and said I could post it to my blog if I liked. No strings. Only if I liked. They just sent me a mail. Simple as that.

After all the Collision Course who-ha on how PR people don’t have billable hours to waste mailing bloggers, it was refreshing. The sender knew what I blogged about, noted my previous post and sent a personal email. Followed up on it too. Standing aloof from bloggers won’t help PR people that want to promote their clients’ work.

Hi there, I am DESPERATE to find the Rock and Roll track but I can’t find it anywhere – not on the albums. I found one note somewhere that said it wasn’t released at all.

Any hints on how to find?

    Thanks!
